The 36th District Republicans have unanimously adopted the following:
A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS public safety is the first and greatest responsibility of
government, and
WHEREAS the City of Seattle is known nationwide for its kind treatment
of those who are down-and-out, and
WHEREAS the anti-aggressive panhandling ordinance proposed by
Councilmember Tim Burgess would in no way harm or deter any person who
is not aggressive in pursuit of a handout,
WE, the 36th District Republicans, do resolve that we support the
passage of Council Bill Number 116807, also known as the anti-aggressive
panhandling ordinance, now before the Seattle City Council.
